The March 2013 Raleigh SEO Meetup will go down as one of the most memorable in the 5 years I've been attending. Epic is the word I would use to describe it.
Don't try to water the horses. Make heros out of the brave. #SEOMeetup

There were a lot of Tweetable moments last night, but Amy Lewis wins for "make hero's of the brave" which actually made me almost cry when I heard it - but i cry easily 😉
Amy was talking about the struggle for content and the constant uphill battle she faces at a ginormous Fortune 100 company. SO she decided to stop fighting the small skirmishes and move forward with a small tribe of believers. She commands an enormous amount of respect by being true, transparent and focused on what is actually important - connecting with people.
I still have yet to meet Casie Gillette in person, but when I do, I will know I'm meeting one of the smartest people in the marketing business. Casie gets that people who like what they see will share it, more sharing - more links, more links = better visibility. Selling a business the idea of being more awesome is hard work unless you have a genius like Casie sitting next to you who can whip out a plethora of data to back it up - which she just happens to have.
Martin takes this stuff to heart, and why shouldn't he? He's going to cure cancer using the very playbook he's talking about tonight. If you're not loving your customers who will? Probably your competitors.
Take an hour and a half and listen to an EPIC SEO Meetup.
